Leading Through Crisis

It’s easy to be confused about leadership in the good times. When a crisis hits and good times come to an end, as they have now, we are reminded that leaders are defined by none of these things, but instead by their behavior and their actions.

You will undoubtedly encounter crises in your professional and personal life; in fact, you probably already have. A crisis is unexpected and it forces you to throw out assumptions – things you took for granted as true. It doesn’t have to be as serious or as widespread as a global pandemic to qualify as a crisis. No matter what crisis you or your team are facing, the tools you learn here will help you to navigate through it and emerge stronger on the other side.

Getting It Done: Goal-Setting, Prioritization, and Accountability

Some people think that implementation isn’t a critical part of leadership. They don’t think it’s a necessary skill. They think that leaders are “vision” people who don’t have time, energy, or sometimes even the ability to spend time on implementation.

And yet, we know that leaders get… things… done. Leaders recognize that their purpose is to the challenge the status quo and change the order of things for the better. They get things done. And therefore, they prioritize, execute, and implement. They don’t have to do it all themselves, but they have to get it done.

Putting Diversity to Work: Building Diverse Teams

Whether you are an HR professional, in the c-suite, a team member, or a team leader – and no matter what kind of organization you’re currently in – this course will be useful to you. This course is for people who know they have work to do.

This course is for people who are ready to move past conversation to action. As a result, we are not going to spend any time talking about definitions or language. Are those things important? Of course. Absolutely. And there are a number of courses that teach those things well – but that is not the purpose of this course.

This course is about practical steps you can take today to build a more diverse team and a more equitable, inclusive culture. This is about moving past conversation to action.
